Telera skis, You used to plan
January 25, 2011

Benede July. Angel Jaen (Champi), Igor Illarramendi, Rafael Gomez and Jorge G ª-Dihinx

in January 2006 and tried Telera the south, leaving this time walk from Santa Elena and opening deep impression on the track. It was very hard and tiresome. Only Alex Sola Chavi Raventós and top made the long day.
This time, however, it's been much easier. Reyes rains brought the snow from low levels and we could run on the track Sobremonte to near Refugio Barranco del Puerto. Thus, at the hands of July Beneden, who knows by heart the key steps , we got in 4 hours and a half from the car to the top of Telera, with skis on.
The south is ideal for winter. Since we take Plan You used the curves to the right, that go to Peña Parda. Visit the great cave Espelunga Zarrambucho and continue north to the Cirque du Zarrambucho. There they begin the key steps. After eating at a flat in the middle of the circus, turn east and climb to a higher level (hidden from below) in which it seems no way out. The key step is a traverse to the right (unexposed) very vertical, which can make even with skis on (blades). Saved this step, we will always be to the East Neck Road Telera that sobreparasaremos and after which we turn to the W to flank the last we will highlight at the base of the blade somital (very well signposted route in the magnificent map of Ara Beturia ).
All final blade could do with skis and blades to the summit, unlimited views to 360 º C over the Pyrenees.
could be skiing down from the top, but the hard snow at the beginning of the blade made us to be cautious and, after dropping the first 200m with crampons, we ski and ski to flank the step that will leave you in the neck of Telera.
As we descend
skiing, snow on lower contas is transformed and we have good snow spring to plan plain wore. Down is a delight, all south, well stabilized and noble behavior. After picking up again in the river water plan used, we then skiing down the track, finishing the snow just before the shelter of Port Bco.
All this occurred on 25 January (is that I bastanbte delay in blog entries).
Now, after 30-40cm of snow fell on Friday January 28, the track is not practicable, but can also go out on foot from the road (Santa Elena). Although the gap is larger, also calzaréis bajaréis skis before and skiing down below. Highly recommended route, but we must take into account the very hilly course length. Material important to go light and not to bring water unnecessary, you can take the stream in the plain of plan used. Fill water well because then you will hit the sun and sudaréis. You will not need much shelter, it is all a circus south and will give you the sun all day.
Enjoy it. Jorge

Route on the excellent map of Beturia Ara , 1:25.000 m, with all walking routes marked. Our ski route to the nearest millimeter coincides with the path traced by them, including key steps

In this plain, Julio , while picking up water from the creek asked: "Hey George, for the route today, Plano You used what?" (...)

stop to eat in the valley of Cirque de Zarrambucho

First key point in the road where you have to turn (do not jump to the bottom Staying within the circus!)

The key step of the route is that flanking hanging that seems impossible to overcome. It's easy.

What we do with crampons or skis and blades (to taste)
